About

Glyphbox started as a group chat where three of us kept dropping links to weird little games nobody else was talking about. At some point the chat got too long, so we turned it into a site. That's the whole origin story, no funding round involved.

We cover indie games on mobile because that's where the strange, personal projects live. A puzzle made by one person in a bedroom can sit right next to a polished studio release, and half the time the bedroom one wins.

How we pick what to review: someone on the team has to actually want to keep playing it. We download a lot, we finish few, and only the ones that stick get written up. If a game bores us by the second session, we usually don't bother.

We pay for the games we cover unless a developer sends a free key, and even then the score doesn't change. Everything here is our own opinion, argued about over too many messages before it goes live.

Lukas Brandt — Lukas has been reviewing games since flip phones had Snake, and still plays more indie titles than he'll admit. He runs the edit and writes most of the puzzle coverage.
